Sophia Loren, Still a looker, Absinthe, the Green Fairy Drink, Embarrassing Sex

Sophia Loren born September 1934 is an Italian film actress. Encouraged to enroll in acting lessons after entering a beauty pageant, Loren began her film career in 1950 at age 15. She appeared in several bit parts and minor roles in the early part of the decade, until her five-picture contract with Paramount in 1956 launched her international career. Notable film appearances around this time include The Pride and the Passion, Houseboat, and It Started in Naples.

Her talents as an actress were not recognized until her performance as Cesira in Vittorio De Sica's Two Women; Loren's performance earned her the Academy Award for Best Actress in 1962 and made her the first artist to win an Oscar for a foreign-language performance. She holds the record for having earned six David di Donatello Awards for Best Actress, the most ever received: Two Women, Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow, Marriage Italian Style (for which she was nominated for a second Oscar), Sunflower, The Voyage, and A Special Day. After starting her family in the early 1970s, Loren spent less time on her acting career and chose to make only occasional film appearances. In later years, she has appeared in American films such as Grumpier Old Men and Nine.

Loren posed scantily clad, at age 72, for the 2007 Pirelli Calendar, along with Penélope Cruz and Hilary Swank…still hot after all these years!

Absinthe-The Green Fairy

It is an anise-flavoured spirit derived from botanicals, including the flowers and leaves of Artemisia absinthium ("grand wormwood"), together with green anise, sweet fennel, and other medicinal and culinary herbs. Absinthe traditionally has a natural green colour but may also be colourless. It is commonly referred to in historical literature as "la fée verte" (the green fairy). Although it is sometimes mistakenly referred to as a liqueur, absinthe is not traditionally bottled with added sugar; it is therefore classified as a spirit. Absinthe is traditionally bottled at a high level of alcohol by volume, but it is normally diluted with water prior to being consumed.

Absinthe originated in the canton of Neuchâtel in Switzerland in the late 18th century. It rose to great popularity as an alcoholic drink in late 19th- and early 20th-century France, particularly among Parisian artists and writers. Owing in part to its association with bohemian culture, the consumption of absinthe was opposed by social conservatives and prohibitionists. Ernest Hemingway, James Joyce, Charles Baudelaire, Paul Verlaine, Arthur Rimbaud, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Amedeo Modigliani, Pablo Picasso, Vincent van Gogh, Oscar Wilde, Marcel Proust, Aleister Crowley, Erik Satie, Edgar Allan Poe, Lord Byron and Alfred Jarry were all known absinthe drinkers.

Absinthe has often been portrayed as a dangerously addictive psychoactive drug and hallucinogen. The chemical compound thujone, although present in the spirit in only trace amounts, was blamed for its alleged harmful effects. By 1915, absinthe had been banned in the United States and in much of Europe, including France.

By the early 21st century, nearly 200 brands of absinthe were being produced in a dozen countries, most notably in France, Switzerland, Australia, Spain, and the Czech Republic.

15 People on the Most Embarrassing Thing That's Ever Happened to Them During Sex

Everyone loves sex, right? If you’re not currently having it, you are probably actively trying to get it. As long as it’s a mutual act between two (or more) people, sex is a thing we all hold dear to our hearts. And privates.

With that being said, sex can always be very weird. Think about it, it can actually be really fucking awkward. We get totally naked with someone, roll around in compromising positions and grunt repeatedly until someone gets off. Then, it’s over.

We’re not saying sex always sucks. It can be fucking amazing…but, what about the times it’s not?

This Ask Reddit thread is overflowing with stories from people who have definitely had worse sexual experiences than you and they’re downright hilarious. Brace yourselves because things are about to get embarrassing.

12 Ways to be More Popular, Successful with the Opposite Sex and in Business

Everyone I know wants to be more popular or desirable-usually with the opposite sex or at least in business…

Beer is a staple for the 4th of July celebrations and 83% of Americans say it is a part of celebrating our freedom along with a backyard BBQ.  75 percent of Americans say making great beer is part of America’s heritage [ironically, Bud light is the favorite brew but it’s owned by a firm in Brussels and was the deal was financed by a firm from Brazil].  The sound of the clink of a glass or two beer bottles tapped together in a toast is emotional music to our ears!  So of course, although I must encourage you to be safe in your consumption, I’m sharing a few ideas today on how you can become more popular.

Below, I've listed 12 ways you can become more charismatic and get more out of your relationships…perhaps better business, family or even dating.  I was brought up with the cardinal rule of always seek out ways in which you can do something for others [essentially, the Golden Rule, something which seems to have been lost among many citizens].

These are "rules" I try to follow in dealing with people. (Some of them are based on principles identified by Robert Cialdini in his book
Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion.)

1. People tend to do business with people they like. So, behave in a way that makes you likable. Be polite and patient. Avoid being crude, rude, gruff, or impatient.

2. People are attracted to people who keep their word. That means when you make a promise, do exactly what you promised. Do it by the deadline you promised – or sooner.

3. People trust people who have their best interests at heart. They will think you have their best interests at heart when you give them advice that benefits them as much as, or more than, it benefits you.

4. People want to do business with people who are experts in their fields. So, become an expert in your field through practice, research, training, education, and study. As you acquire that expertise, share it. Give speeches, and write articles and books. Be generous with your knowledge. Know that in doing so, you are demonstrating your expertise.

5. People feel comfortable giving money to people who are authentic and honest. (That means you must be honest, frank, ethical, and aboveboard.) Believe that telling the truth is more powerful than lying, even when the lies are mendacities by omission.

6. People are attracted to people who are attractive. You don't have to get plastic surgery, but you can eat right, exercise, dress well, and be well-groomed. And pay attention to your personal hygiene.

7. People feel better with people who seem to be "real." The best way to do that is to admit your shortcomings when they are evident. When the conversation turns to a subject about which you know next to nothing, admit it.

8. People respond to people who listen and pay attention to what they are saying. Remember the old cliché: You have two ears and one mouth because you should listen twice as much as you talk.

9. People feel comfortable with people who are like them. The trick here is to identify what you have in common with the other person. It could be golf, kids, pets, or anything else. Then use that to cement a bond between you.

10. People are attracted to people who are humble. So don't brag about your successes. You can mention them, but don't brag. If someone brings them up, downplay them. Switch the topic as soon as possible to the other person.

11. People tend to value people who are in demand. That's why you should never tell a prospective customer that things are slow and you really need his business. Think about doctors. How would you feel if you walked into a doctor's office and you were the only patient? Wouldn't you wonder how good he was? As much as you hate it when you have to sit there and wait, don't you feel more assured when a doctor's waiting room is packed? Of course you do.

12. People want to be surrounded by helpful people – people who make their lives easier and save them time. So make it a personal policy to attend to the needs of others – even when your purpose is to help yourself.

Which of these people-pleasing skills do you have already?

Congratulate yourself for acquiring them, and practice them more.

What Playboy Playmates Really Want in Men

What would it take for you to get a date with a real life Playboy Playmate [Yeah, I know, the magazine no longer features those airbrushed nudes]?

Not brains.  Not a sense of humor.  It’s all a matter of material goods.  Here’s how many of them decide if a man is worth their while:

·         First, they look at his watch, because what a man will spend on a watch is an indication to them of how much money he will spend on a woman.  If it’s a cheap, the gifts will be chintzy.

·         Shoes are second because they reflect how a man will treat a woman.  If he gets his shoes shined regularly, it means he’ll pamper his woman.

·         The quality of a man’s shirt is third because it indicates his taste for fine things.

·         Finally, the type of car a man drives is an indication of what kind of toys he owns and whether he’s fun during the day – and at night.

Since we’re in the midst of the election season, polls show that the majority of women would have a one night stand in the Oval Office with a president they found sexually attractive!

NOTE:  For those of you who don’t already know, I was the Associate Editor of a rather brazen men’s magazine for a number of a years…

Fay Spain, an AZ Gal, Live Rent Free, win Any Fight, More

Fay Spain-Another Lovely AZ Gal

She was your typical B-movie drive-in bad girl - sometimes blonde, sometimes brunette, always bodacious. A tease, a taunter and a temptress throughout most her career, Fay Spain was born in Phoenix, Arizona, in 1932. She headed to New York where she initially found summer stock work and a bit of television exposure.

One of her earliest TV appearances was not as an actress but as a contestant on the TV game show You Bet Your Life (1950) starring Groucho Marx. By 1956, this fetching starlet was winning episodic roles on the more popular shows of the day, including Perry Mason (1957), Cheyenne (1955) and Gunsmoke (1955). She was also gaining notice on the covers of magazines. This cheesecake attention led directly to her juvenile delinquent debut in Dragstrip Girl

She passed in 1988 [Most of you can tell I love AZ...the photo of Spain in wood tub was shot in
An old film set down the road from where I lived near the Superstition Mountains-many Hollywood legends, including John Wayne and Elvis stayed at a nearby hotel in Apache Junction at the foothills of the mountains near the site the famous Lost Dutchman Goldmine which no one has ever found. The area makes for some great hiking and exploring and is rumored to have been a hideout for outlaws and Apaches. The hotel has since been torn down but there is still a tourist area called Gold Field nearby where you can get a feel for what it was like to live in a gold mining town.

When I was younger there was an old man who sure looked like a miner complete with a burro who would come out of the foothills of the Superstitions and would hang around a popular eatery called the “Mining Camp” where all the food was served on tin plates at long camp tables . Lots of folks would give him cash in order to have their photo taken with him].
